The Women

Ok, if you have not seen this movie and wanted to, do NOT read what I have to say. Basically my talking about this movie may potentially ruin it for you.
Now for those that have seen it, or know you don't care if you read about what happens first here it is...
I love Meg Ryan, I think she's great. She's so cute and classic at the same time. A forever hopeless romantic yet stuck here in the real world getting lost in her stupid social calendar and not so much with her husband whom she adores. Now this movie is made up of a cast of entirely women. There are no male extras... so not your movie if you are looking for eye candy in your chick flick! But the story line is good and a real true issue. Men cheat. So your call, what next?
This woman was married to her man for 13 years and was not leaving without fighting for her marriage. I have never been married, and don't know that I would fight after 13 years. I really HATE that a marriage sometimes 'needs' something like that to happen to get 'close' again. I just don't buy it. Having dated my ex for 7 years and not accepting his affair... I doubt I'd be the forgiving wife. Warning up front to you men who can't keep your you know what in your pants except when you are with me... I will not keep you around. You will have expired. Life goes on.
Somehow Meg's character really truly loves her husband even still. Of course she is mad! Of course she is sick! But she does not want her marriage to end.
Makes me wonder about marriage... I mean I understand not wanting to end one but why stay in one in which the man has already had an affair? I just hope that since I am so strong on my feeling for this if and when I meet a man that I fall hopelessly in love with and marry that I stay as vocal as I am now and not fall into this communication lapse so it would be a mutual decision if we were no longer in the marriage together anymore and it would not come to an affair. Just comes back to HONESTY and open COMMUNICATION. One more thing, this is not a male bashing movie, two female friends face betrayal against each other and another character cheats on her husband. So its not just about men doing the cheating. I just would have liked the movie more if she left her husband in the end, that would be my happy ending :) although I know how much it hurts and how strong love can be that some can never just walk away from it, this movie shows that side.
