Whatever Makes You Happy: The Novel

This is such a great read! As a single almost 30 something I loved listening to both the mother's and son's side of this story, ok mostly the male side. It's about 3 friends, three women in their 50s that have been friends since their boy's were little. Meeting on their monthly Sunday coffee get together, the latest happens to be Mother's Day and no word from their sons who are now 34 and still single and not producing the grand babies they long for. So they plan to visit their sons unannounced and for a week long stay to become reacquainted with their estranged sons. These young men are in for quite a surprise. I was entertained every minute and curious how this hasn't been a movie.

Dear John & Alice in Wonderland

Latest movies:

Last month I saw Dear John and Alice in Wonderland in 3D.

Dear John was classic Nicholas Sparks. Went with my sisters, and thankfully one brought the tissues that we needed. Good heartfelt story with an alternative happy ending : )

Alice in Wonderland was a different kind of comedy as Johnny Depp's performance advertised in the previews. Entertaining and fun to watch in 3D. Much better than I thought. However from those that had very high hopes they we not as thrilled.

On DVD:

Couples Retreat & Horton Hears a Who

Couples retreat was goofy as expected with Vince Vaughn. However I couldn't shake the feeling that it was stealing from Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married even though I haven't seen that one yet. Felt very unoriginal.

Horton Hears a Who
Wow. Very profound for a children's film. Strong message for all.
