Vacation!

Leaving first thing tomorrow morning for a nice peaceful week in Vermont. Staying at a lake house with the family. Just hoping the rain stays in NY! It's been like Seattle here and its getting old really fast.

So this is how my morning went...

I go to get my car serviced, just a basic oil change before the road trip... and after waiting 20 minutes in the street just to get into the service center there's this guy inside freaking out that they ran out of loaner cars. He is ranting and raving, you made my appointment for Friday, how could you make my appointment for today, you told me today, and run out of cars? They are apologizing and offering him another service center to go to, but no none of this is enough he is so pissed. He shouts that he is going to call the police. Yes that's right, the police. They say go ahead and call the police sir. So he goes outside to call the cops. At which point they are able to help assist me and I say how I can't believe how some people can be so upset so early in the morning, I am still waking up. And the guy is like oh yeah we get all types. They promise me my oil change will be done first thing. So I take a walk across the street to get breakfast at Dunkin Donuts. I am about to order my oh so favorite Strawberry Banana smoothie and get a banana walnut muffin. Get this - they no longer sell smoothies! D&D has discontinued them! Oh no that is not enough... the cut back on their muffin selection as well! No smoothie and no banana walnut for Shannon.
My brother was so excited hearing this, he asked if I stuck it to the man storming out of there, outraged, No Smoothies! No Banana Walnut muffins! I am calling the police and high tail it out of there.
Of course I did no such thing. I laughed to myself thinking of how the man from the car service center would have reacted and simply ordered a small hot chocolate and a corn muffin. So sad I will never again enjoy one of their smoothies though... they were so yummy! how to say goodbye to such a treat right before summer I have no idea.

After I texted all my nearest and dearest friends about D&D's bad decision to discontinue their smoothies and cut back on their muffins my car was ready and I was off to work. Now I am just putting off packing which is the only part of vacation I do not enjoy. Let me get it over with! Hope to post how great the week was when I get back : )

Yes Man

Jim Carrey, Zooey Deschanel, Bradley Cooper all star in this funny movie. Surprise Bradley Cooper plays the good guy! He is the encouraging friend that we all hope to have around but alas it has to come from within. No it isn't possible to really always say yes, use your best judgement, just don't make it a habit of saying No without opening yourself to new experiences.

Grey's Anatomy

I didn't watch the season finale when it aired because I had already missed too many episodes. Thanks to abc.com you can catch up on the shows you missed and I finally caught part 2 of the finale last night and OMG! I really need to buy some tissues. Seriously. That show is just a trigger for me like Party of 5 had been back in high school. Only thing with Grey's tho is that even tho characters die they seem to come back as ghosts and so chances are we haven't seen the end of the two we thought we lost.

Oh baby!

When Emma comes over to visit she is just too cute! Sophia is on the couch next to her but barely looked over at the baby. She did however smile for the camera. It was Scarlett (our 2 year old kitty) that we had to keep from jumping into the baby seat. She is not used to having to share the spot light.

NH & ME

Road trip! Went up to New Hampshire and Maine this weekend. Awesome time! Spent the most of the trip at the outlets, I got a pair of jeans for $4! picked up a ton of other stuff too. Did make it to the beach and definitely want to make sure one summer I stay at one of those beach houses in Maine, so beautiful!
Most random find, one the way to the outlets in Maine there was a school with a HUGE wooden chair in front of it, naturally I had to hop on it for a pic and of course attached it here with a few more from the weekend.
