the weekend

oh what a weekend. good times! and then bad times. left early saturday morning, yes 9am is early for me, especially when i only went to bed at 4am. then hung out with friends kids all day sat. two adorable boys! one very happy baby that loves to be held and come on who doesnt like to hold a cute happy boy? shes got her hands full with the 4 year old too. fun day then no sitter so we stayed in sat night. very dangerous...shannon mixing her own drinks...not a good thing. lets just say i didnt make it to the actual baptism sun morning. i was home for when the caterer came to start setting up. he asked if i tried a shot of what i was drinking last night. oh no i said! and then omg i drank half the bottle of jack! sooo not a good idea to do ever. especially in only 3 cups! (note to self dont use the big beer cups when drinking liquor, also have someone more stingy poor the liquor)
but made it through the day! yay! good thing i got to play with the boys on saturday because sunday i just sat, and focused on not being sick, and just sat some more. made it through the car ride home sunday night and at 10pm i was asleep. of course i was still 15 minutes late for work this morning because that is the slacker that i am.

Perfect Fifths

I loved reading the Jessica Darling Books I discovered this fall. She was so Dawson Creek with the crazy vocabulary and so over the high school drama while being in the middle of it herself. She over analyzed everything, like gee I don't know, me, and so of course I took a liking to her. Then there was her stupid decision while in college I was turned off by but we are all entitled to free and she is a character that is free to make her own mistakes.
So I read them all:
Sloppy Firsts
Second Helpings
Charmed Thirds
Fourth Comings
And now half way into reading Perfect Fifths. Before the books were all written by Jessica in the first person. This book is different. Its been three years since Jessica and Marcus last spoke. This book is essentially the conversation between the two of them after crashing into each other. Jessica tells Marcus how she's been working with high school kids whom after writing so many first person narratives by this time they have them write about a personal experience in the third person to slightly remove themselves from the pain and write about it with a new perspective, which is also reflected in this book. What was going on in Marcus's head? Well now the readers can hear some of his innermost thoughts. I'm reading right through it and trying to stop some and feel it - that's what I have most enjoyed about reading these stories. Its so first person you feel it. Its all about being sixteen even though she is now twenty five, feeling the moment you are living right now and not letting the world get to you in being all heartless as you get older. So tonight I shall be reading to the end unless I sadly get too tired first and involuntarily crash like I did the other night. A very poorly timed nap that had me missing the gym because they close at 9pm and I woke at 8:30pm. But did manage to work out for an hour last night so its all good. That's right Jessica Darling, even when talking about you I can bring it back to me, yes, me.

Observe & Report
As far as comedies go, those that make you laugh like crazy but you feel a little bit dumber just having sat through it, yeah this one definitely rates here. Good laughs, very silly, some gross parts but aren’t all good comedies full of gross and inappropriate scenes? There are gag moments but you’ll be laughing through them if you have a good sense of humor.

Easter!

Happy Easter!
Spent the day with the family. Told them my psychic story and we all remembered Grammy together.
Had a lot of fun with my little cousins. We went around to the park and took a crazy a lot of pictures. Got silly bringing a bunny stuffed animal along and then everyone took their picture with the bunny, at the park, and then back at home.
Good times, silly memories.

psychic
first she takes your name and birth date. and charts out a bunch of numbers. then she starts telling me about work, very positive, something about a test and moving ahead, getting more responsibilities, moving into a more administrative role... not sure about that but stays positive which is always good to hear.
then she senses a spirit and asks if i have lost a grandparent. i tell her how i have lost three grandparents. so she says one is a grandmother than yes? i say yes. (not really looking for this type of thing and not really offering much) she then says she senses my mother (i did loose my mothers mom a few years ago) asks if there is anyone with the letter s or c... im not thinking of anyone so i volunteer sean, she asks if theres a relationship to my grandmother, i say yes, her youngest son, then she asks if there is an ann? i tell her no (one distantly on my dads side) but she pushes ann, maryanne? i say yes, her son's wife is maryanne. she said she is confirming with her spirit that she is here. (now i remember s, sarah - my cousin. maryanne just lost her grandmother so perhaps this is why my grandmas spirit is mentioning them) then she suggests the name jane - my grandmas sister.
i was thrown off then on, didnt ask any questions, just took what she said at face value.
basically she spoke about work, grandma, home, and travel.
she sees a big purchase for me in the fall, possibly a home, but that it isnt a large one, just something for me, that its best for me to do it myself and not with someone else, that i love my family and friends but also value my me time and so when its right it will happen and to do it alone.
she sees travel, esp august, and the water.
told d later on that we will have to do the cruise in august after my bday : )
overall my chart was positive and she said from my birthday on it will be a really good year for me, so hey sounds good to me! happy to hear positivity after one of the hardest years ever ya know! so bring it on : )

Rescue Me

It's back! Yay! Only disappointment was that I couldn't find a better picture. I'm not really into any of the guys although I do love the show. Action, drama, humor, just good times all around.
Even enjoyed the previews for the new movie Hangover. Definitely need to see that one! (Some comedies are must sees in the theater)
Tonight's episode was funny as always... gotta love the naughty librarian bit ; )

Responsibility, protection, nurturing, community, balance, sympathy.
The expression or destiny for #6:
The number 6 Expression provides you a truly outstanding sense of responsibility, love, and balance. The 6 is helpful and ever conscientious, making you quite capable of rectifying and balancing any sort of inharmonious situation. You are a person very much inclined to give help and comfort to those in need. You have a natural penchant for working with the old, the young, the sick, or the underprivileged. Although you may have considerable creative and artistic talents, the chances are that you will devote yourself to an occupation that shows concern for the betterment of the community.

If there is an excess of the number 6 in your makeup, you may exhibit some of the negative traits associated with this number. There may be a tendency for you to be too exacting and demanding of yourself. In this regard, you may at times sacrifice yourself (or your loved ones) for the welfare of others. In some cases, the over zealous 6 has difficulty distinguishing helping from interfering. You may have difficulty expressing your own individuality, because of involvement with responsibilities and causes. The 3 Soul Urge gives intuitive insight, thus, very high creative and inspirational tendencies. The truly outstanding trait shown by the 3 Soul Urge is that of self-expression, regardless of the field of endeavor.
On the negative side, you may at times become too easygoing and too optimistic, tending to scatter forces and accomplish very little. Often, the excessive 3 energy produces non-stop talkers. Everyone has faults, but the 3 soul urge doesn't appreciate having these pointed out.

While I was there I entered her contest & now I will get the prize : )
Macys Contest
Check this out! Clinton Kelly, from What Not To Wear, will be visiting Macy's stores in 15 cities. Enter to be part of the fashion shows in which one grand prize winner will receive:
What to wear

"Love Tease Short-Sleeve Floral Dress with Solid Skirt"
Of course that is the model in the picture from macys.com. It is very form fitting and above the knee but I have to say it is very flattering. I always say its better to wear something that shows your shape rather something big and loose that makes you look even bigger than are, who needs that?
Now I just have to get a pair of control top pantyhose to make sure I look good and of course the right pair of shoes!
